Academix.ng e-library targets Nigerian students and lecturers

e-Library service provider www.academix.ng, today announced the official launch of its e-Library card service for Nigerian universities to enable its subscribers conveniently access millions of research materials.

CEO of the company, Engineer Iso Bassey, stated that by this initiative, they are looking to serve millions of students and lecturers of tertiary institutions without access to e-Library services. The e-Library cards are now available in N500, N1,000 and N2,000 denominations and provide access for 14, 30 and 90 days respectively.

“The e-Library cards operate in a similar manner to mobile phone recharge cards. Each card has a unique serial number and PIN number. PIN numbers are used to activate access.” Bassey went on further to state that the company found it necessary to innovate in this direction to “translate www.academix.ng from an abstract service hanging in the cloud to a tangible platform that users can relate to through physical cards,” said Bassey.

The company said it has begun to roll out these cards across all tertiary institutions in Nigeria starting with the South-South. It stated that through the initiative, millions of research materials will be within easy reach of over 3 million Nigerian students and lecturers.

“By this disruptive action, Academix is now acknowledged as the prime leader in the Innovation and e-Knowledge domain. The Academix assurances demonstrates that through technology, Nigerian and African Youths will now have unhindered access to quality research materials for global competitiveness.” Uwaje further stated that “The beauty of this knowledge access to e-Library research works is the multiplier effect it will create as a critical accelerator for youth engagement, innovation, entrepreneurship and employment,” said the company’s chairman Mr. Chris Uwaje, FNCS
