Abuja International ICT Conference and Expo 2015 hold next month

The federal capital city of Abuja will next month hold the Abuja International ICT Conference & Expo 2015. The two-day event is organised by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce & Industry in collaboration with Horizia Consulting Ltd.

TechCityNG is the official media partner for the Abuja International ICT Conference & Expo 2015

The theme is ICT in Emerging Economies and is scheduled to hold on the 15th and 16th October 2015 at Sheraton Hotels and Towers Abuja.

“In spite of a rather late adoption, available data indicates that information and communication technology (ICT) is hastily picking up speed in Nigeria. With the proliferation of Information Technology companies, speculators and researchers have suggested that the Nigerian e-commerce market potential alone has a staggering value of over $10 billion with over 15,000 jobs in recent years,” organizers said in a statement.

“Credited to its many promises, ICTs constitute a potent driver of socio-economic development in emerging economies. However, it is not without challenges that requires attention of the Government, industrial key players and allies of earnest counterpart beyond the shores of Nigeria.”

The event will feature conferences, exhibitions and a closing gala/award night.

“It shall draw on significant insights and experiences from Nigeria, other parts of Africa, and the world at large; convening ICT thought leaders, stakeholders, analysts, researchers and interest groups on how emerging economies can drive sustainable economic development through ICT,” organizers said.

The event will “create a forum for Policymakers, Industry Practitioners and ICT stakeholders to share research, experience, best-practices and initiate discussions on the pathways for promoting sustainable economic development through ICT.” It will also review and keep up to date with global ICT trends, and how ICT can create a more connected society and build smarter private/public sector.

Attendance for the Abuja International ICT Conference and Expo 2015 is free but strictly by registration or invitation, however, vendors would need to contact the organisers on a.olufunmi@abujaict2015.com or call +234 9099 990 812-5 for their unique passes.
