The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is receiving applications for the 2019 AFD Digital Africa Challenge. It is opened for startups working on projects that promote the development of sustainable cities in Africa.
AFD Digital Africa Challenge aligns with the United Nations 11th Sustainable Development Goal – ‘the creation of sustainable cities and commodities’. It supports startups by giving them access to resources, businesses and an opportunity to collaborate with the European innovation ecosystem.
Eligibility:
- Your project proposes a solution in the field of urban services, urban planning for the most vulnerable, local economic development or improvement in citizen and local authorities relationship.
- Your project is in the process of prototyping, launching on the market or expanding into other territories.
- Your project has a legal structure as well as a sustainable and autonomous business model.
- Digital technology is the heart of your solution.
Benefits:
At the closure of the application, 10 winners will be nominated to receive €20,000, access to a tailor-made support ‘Acceleration Pack’ program and international visibility.
