6 ‘conditions’ People Think Techies Suffer That Are Absolutely Untrue

Of course, not all companies are in the tech industry, but almost every company has a tech department. Like in the culture at other companies, tech companies can be just as vibrant and fun as any for techies.

You should probably consider being in tech because you’d never have to worry about these issues:

1. Boredom

Think that working in tech means you don’t need to rely on other people or things to entertain you? Of course, it’s about development, inventiveness and creativity, but no, it’s not all cold and hard logic in tech. You may not have the luxury of jumping all over the place, but you’ll be coming up with solutions to problems and maybe even completely new innovations while having fun.

2. Career change

One of the most interesting things about tech is that it’s always in demand. And there would always be a role for you. Tech startup owners are always in demand for everything. So, whether you’re climbing the career ladder from being a junior to senior web designer, you can be pretty sure that, if you keep getting additional digital skills , you’ll always move to higher places in your career.

3. (9-5) job limitations

Sitting in a dingy office working 9 to 5 is not the norm in most tech companies. Even with offices, most tech companies have at least some possibility to adjust things to fit the rest of your life. What more, many employees in tech work remotely from home (or, in fact, anywhere there is a good internet connection!). They only need to get cozy and get down to business!

4. Isolation

Working in tech almost always means working in teams or at least closely with clients. You won’t be feeling lonely, even if you work remotely! Tech companies make use of tools like group chats, video conferencing, and other collaboration software to stay in touch in real-time.

5. Independence

With the overwhelming number of IT businesses in the world today,  freelancing is fast becoming an awesome option for so many digital roles. Now, tech jobs can be easily done by one person with a laptop, an internet connection, and a few digital tools.  Tech freelancers can now create websites for entrepreneurs and develop apps or software for clients around the world without a boss standing over them.

6. Waiting to make an impact

Unlike other people, those in tech don’t necessarily have to resign themselves to a life of just putting in the hours to bring home a paycheck. In their everyday lives, they are always a part of something truly meaningful to their clients or the world at large. From developing apps that teach uneducated adults, to building websites for charity organizations, they help to improve the world—one website or line of code at a time.

Are you a techie? We’d love to hear all about the fun you’re having!
