Apple’s ecosystem has many products, some of which its users may not be fully utilising like the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch is one stylish product in Apple’s ecosystem that does more than pick calls, stream music or get notifications.

In this article, we will show a few ways you can use your Apple Watch to the full. It doesn’t matter the Series you are using, all you need to do is update to the recent WatchOS software. Here are a few fun things you can do with your watch while it is on your wrist:

  • Find your iPhone: This is one of the most helpful features of the Apple Watch. To do this, open the control centre (long press the bottom section of your watch and swipe up). Once in the control centre, tap the icon that looks like a phone, and your iPhone will ring, helping you locate it.
  • Take pictures on your iPhone hands-free: Do you want to take some awesome pictures on your iPhone, but have no one to help you? Who says you need anyone to help you when you have your Apple Watch handy? Unlock your watch and open the camera app, set your iPhone and frame your shot. Then tap the timer on the watch interface to take a photo without having anybody help you.
  • Switch audio output device: If you want to switch the audio output device from your AirPods to a Bluetooth speaker or vice versa, your watch can help. On the music interface on your watch, tap the Airplay icon. Use the crown to navigate till you find the audio setting option and select the audio device you are switching to. Just like that, you can jump from AirPods to a speaker or vice versa.
  • Stop your notifications with your palm: You might set multiple notifications on your watch and once set to go off they might distract you or those around. To stop the beeping notification, place your palm over your watch, and it’d mute itself.
  • Keep your watch safe from water: If you take your watch for a swim or need to run in the rain, take the following steps. Yes, Apple advertises their products as water-resistant, but that doesn’t mean water can’t damage them. If you are taking the watch on a water experience of any sort, first turn on your water lock in your control centre. This mode will prevent the water from rubbing off the watch’s face to control it. Once you are out of the water or rain, turn the watch crown and unlock the display. Water will clear out of the watch’s speakers.

These five tips can make your Apple Watch more fun and useful. You can play around with your watch to get familiar with these tips and features. Future updates to WatchOS will bring more useful features to the smartwatch.
