A new managing director has been announced for Nigeria’s online property portal Lamudi Nigeria, she is Akua Nyame-Mensah who until her latest appointment was the managing director of Lamudi Ghana. With her latest appointment, she will be overseeing operations of both companies.
Akua described the transition process from Ghana to Nigeria as exciting, adding that she looks forward to working with the two teams across both countries which she believes will lead to favourable opportunities for the company as a whole.
Obi Ejimofo, who has held the position of MD of Lamudi Nigeria since late 2013, is regarded as the driving force of the company’s 105-percent increase in land and property listed for sale or rent.
He has made countless contributions to the company’s success, including the over 3,000 real estate agents the company caters to across Nigeria.
On the choice of a new MD for Lamudi Nigeria, Mr Ejimofo stated, “Akua was the obvious and best choice to take this role. Her achievements at Lamudi Ghana are remarkable and because she’s been there from day one, I believe she is well equipped to take this company to the next level”.
Before joining Lamudi, Ms Nyame-Mensah worked as an events consultant and for several development contractors in Accra, Ghana. Akua holds a master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from Bryn Mawr College.
