YouTube clips is a relatively new YouTube creator feature that enables creators to share a specific part of a video – 60 seconds max – to run on a loop on the main video’s watch page. While the clips option has been in use before now, YouTube has confirmed that access to its functionality will be granted to ten times more channels.
The clips option is a win for YouTubers as it enables flexible sharing of interesting bits of their videos on social media or via email, alongside an allocated new URL that redirects viewers to the main video.
YouTube said it put gamers in consideration in expanding the clips option by maintaining it ‘currently in limited alpha,’ adding that a new Clips view counter will also be available for YouTubers to track the performance of their clips.
