Why @wizkidayo releasing #MadeInLagos on uduX is a big deal

Wizkid tweeted at past midnight the link to listen to his oven fresh album, #MadeInLagos and while all the links looked very familiar to us, some people asked, “huh, which one is uduX?” and others were simply hype about it, tweeting “yay! uduX!!!”

The gist is that the album was on there first! UduX had the album before even Apple Music and Spotify- who are considered the leading platforms for Digital streaming. And Wizkid fans didn’t care where they listened to the album, as long as they could listen — legally of course. So most of them took to Installing the UduX app.

There are indications that Wizkid personally wanted his album on the Nigerian platforms first, in accordance with the title “Made In Lagos.”

uduX is a Nigerian streaming platform that was launched by Chidi Okeke in April 2019. The company has collaborated with Universal Music Group and gotten the license to UMG’s music Catalog (being the first major company to do so). According to Okeke, uduX’s goal is to “bring value to the music ecosystem in Nigeria”. With a #500/month subscription fee, Wizkid has cleverly increased the uduX database by releasing his music on the platform and that’s an endorsement of a lifetime!
