Taxi hailing app, Uber, has officially launched in Nigeria’s Federal Capital city of Abuja. To attract Abuja residents and visitors to its service, the app is offering users 6 days of free rides.

“Now that Uber has launched, you can request a reliable and affordable ride at the touch of a button — anytime, anywhere. Whether you are headed to dinner, the club or an important business meeting, Uber will make sure you get to where you want to go in Abuja,” Uber said in a blog post.

Abuja is the latest (eleventh) African city that Uber will be launching following Mombasa which was also officially announced today.

As it does elsewhere, Uber has announced some partnerships with Abuja-based firms to attract users and one of such is the partnership with the Play Entertainment Network for 15% off beverages to all Uber riders on Thursday night.

“All you need to do is take an Uber and flash your receipt to the bartender to unlock this awesome discount,” Uber said.
