Getting the perfect gift can sometimes be a hassle. Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, Babafemi Lawal and Adeoye Ojo completely understands your plight which is the reason behind the launch of Suregifts.

Olaoluwa, Babafemi and Adeoye met while heading various departments in Kasuwa which is now known as one of your favourite online platforms, Jumia.  They moved on to establish Suregifts in 2014 after carefully considering the gift giving nature of Nigerians and looking at the way weddings are done in this part of the world.

To make their dram a success, they partnered with some of the best stores in Nigeria by integrating their systems to accept gift cards from Suregifts. For online platforms, they created plugins/extensions or shared raw APIs for custom platforms which enabled their systems to verify if a voucher issued by Suregifts is valid. For the offline retail outlets, they deployed custom POS devices that can verify vouchers and print receipts for customers and merchants similar to ones used for debit card transactions.

With a staff strength of about 10, Suregifts has been able to power employee rewards and customer rewards for several top companies even outside Nigeria, in the space of one year. With each passing day, they are getting closer to realizing their dream of being the one-stop shop for any gifting or reward considerations for individuals and corporates.

To make the process easier, the management has created a new site to address the issue of gift cards not being personal enough. With this, customers can add a greetings card based on the occasion. They can also add a video message particularly for customers who are in the diaspora and wish to send their loved ones a gift.

Suregifts has something to meet every preference. For instance, if one decides to deliver their gifts personally, Suregifts allows you the option to print the card. This they send it across to you in a PDF file. If the internet connection isn’t so friendly, you could get it in the form of an SMS. For couples who are getting married, they could set up a gift registry on the site and share the URL generated by the site to their friends.
