Samsung formally announces Olympic Games limited edition Galaxy S7 edge

Samsung has done us the honours by officially announcing its Olympic Games limited edition Galaxy S7 edge – and from the looks of it those leaked image from @evleaks was spot on.

The device has the exact same specifications as the regular S7 edge but comes only in black, with certain parts of the exterior covered in the different Olympic colours. Each phone also comes with Olympic themed designs in the user-Interface – that’s the home and lock screens, contact screen, notification bar as well as the message screen.

While all participants at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will get one for free, the rest of us can buy one of these limited edition Samsung phones beginning from July 18th. The only catch here though is that they’ll only be available in the US, Brazil, Germany, Korea and China.

In addition to the Rio 2016 themed S7 edge phones, Samsung will also be giving all participants of the games a pair of its $200 Gear IconX wireless earphones.

Samsung however hasn’t said how much it’ll cost.

Would you like to buy one of these? Why or why not?
