Binance releases new proof-of-reserves site
Cryptocurrency exchange company, Binance has released a new site that explains its proof-of-reserves system and this may or may not be in response to the collapse of FTX weeks back. Binance has said it is starting with BTC reserves and that, right now it has a reserve ratio of 101%. With its new proof-of-reserves site, Binance clarified the BTC wallets included in the proof-of-reserves system don’t include Binance’s own funds. “It is important to note that this does not include Binance’s corporate holdings, which are kept on a completely separate ledger,” the company says.
WhatsApp starts rolling the ‘Message Yourself’ feature
WhatsApp has started rolling out a feature to let you chat with yourself. Called ‘Message Yourself’, the feature lets users send notes, reminders and shopping lists to themselves on WhatsApp. Available to Android and iPhone users in the coming weeks.
Elon Musk to make a ‘phone’ if Apple and Android removed Twitter from their app stores
Elon Musk has revealed that he will make a ‘phone’ if Apple and Android removed Twitter from their app stores. Elon Musk said that he certainly doesn’t want Apple and Google to remove Twitter from their respective storefronts, but if it were to come to that, and if there is no other choice, he would make an alternative phone.
CBN unveils new Naira notes
After months of high expectation, the new Naira notes have been unveiled and are ready for circulation. According to the CBN, the security feature present in the new Naira notes makes it immune to being counterfeited. They also assure that the authenticity of the new notes can be put to the test using ultraviolet (UV) light, adding that “the ink, the paper, the lines – all were carefully done with advanced features that will be difficult for any one to counterfeit.”
