Hurray! Twitter is Ten!

Ten years ago, four men in America, Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, Biz Stone and Noah Glass laid developed an egg. It hatched into a bird. A tiny blue bird. It grew and grew and grew. Behold, it was Twitter. Ten years later, we celebrate this social medium that gave life to app adoption as we know it, communication and technology as a whole industry. Twitter also gave life to the idiom; “a little birdie told me…”. Below is what the cool kids at Twitter wrote to their followers users in celebration of ten years of operation and development in different ramifications.

On March 21, ten years ago, it began with a single Tweet. Since then, every moment of every day, people connect about the things they care about most — all over the world.

As we mark this milestone, it’s you we want to celebrate. As March 21 begins around the world, each of our global offices will kick off the day by showing our appreciation and gratitude — starting in Sydney and following the sun to headquarters in San Francisco. We are excited to celebrate with all of you.

Throughout the years, you’ve made Twitter what it is today and you’re shaping what it will be in the future. Thank you for making history, driving change, lifting each other up and laughing together every day.

Love,
Twitter

Twitter trolls and internet bullies are still far from being exposed and done away with, accounts still get hacked every once in a while (or so we are told), immorality is still a state of mind and the delete button is still just what it is, a button. In all of this, however, the same Twitter has been a myriad of things to millions and millions of people. From the meeting point of many individuals turned couples, to a networking platform for the business minded, news feed for those looking and a perfect escape for a good laugh on a bad day.

So here is to Twitter at 10! Hip! Hip! Hip! Hurray!!!
