Google has officially expanded its creative AI suite by making Flow available as an additional service for Google Workspace customers. Launched into the Workspace ecosystem on January 14, 2026, Flow is a high-definition AI filmmaking platform that allows users to transform text prompts and basic ideas into cinematic videos.
Designed for professional and educational environments, Flow bridges the gap between static content and high-fidelity storytelling. Whether you are a marketer creating social assets or an educator visualizing complex scientific concepts, the tool democratizes high-end video production.
Key Features and Creative Power
Flow leverages Google’s most advanced media models to ensure that AI-generated video is both visually stunning and narratively consistent.
• Veo 3.1 Integration: Powered by Google DeepMind’s latest video model, Flow supports professional features like character consistency, object persistence, and native vertical (9:16) video for mobile-first platforms like YouTube Shorts.
• Nano Banana Pro Imagery: For high-quality still frames and textures, Flow uses Nano Banana Pro to ensure that every shot has realistic lighting and detail.
• Scene Builder: A comprehensive “timeline” view where users can stitch together multiple AI clips, manage “ingredients” (reference images), and maintain a cohesive story arc.
• 4K Upscaling: While standard exports are in HD, premium tiers offer state-of-the-art upscaling to 4K resolution for broadcast-ready quality.
Deployment for Administrators
Because Flow is introduced as an “Additional Google Service,” Workspace administrators have full control over its availability.
• Granular Controls: Admins can enable or disable Flow at the domain, organizational unit (OU), or group level via the Google Admin console (Apps > Additional Google Services).
• Automatic Availability: Organizations with “Additional Google Services” enabled by default will see Flow appear automatically. Others must manually toggle the service to “ON.”
• Data Security: By keeping Flow within the Workspace environment, Google ensures that organizational data remains protected according to established security policies.
Eligibility and Rollout
The rollout began this week and is reaching both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. Flow is available to a wide variety of users, including:
• Business Tiers: Starter, Standard, and Plus.
• Enterprise Tiers: All Enterprise editions.
• Education Tiers: Standard and Plus.
• AI Add-ons: Users with Google AI Ultra for Business or AI Pro for Education will receive enhanced generation limits and 4K capabilities.
