FOCUS - A Short Film on Digital Rights

Paradigm Initiative is thrilled to announce its latest short film, FOCUS, which is now streaming on YouTube. Focus is a state-of-the-art motion picture produced by Up In The Sky, an audiovisual creative agency, and directed by multiple award-winning director, Tolu Ajayi. The film features young and talented actors, Moshood Fattah and Genoveva Umeh, as lead actors.

The short film, FOCUS, is a transformation of Paradigm Initiative’s 2020 annual report, Londa, into a motion picture for wider reach and appeal. The report depicts the state of digital rights and inclusion in Africa with a focus on 20 African countries — Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, DRC, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Togo, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

At a time when most countries within the African continent keep witnessing digital rights violations in the forms of surveillance, internet shutdown, data abuse, illegal detentions, etc, FOCUS takes us back to the drawing board as it ignites conversations and awareness on these issues.
