ChatGPT Adds Record Mode and Cloud Integration for Team and Enterprise Users

OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT’s functionality with new productivity-focused tools, including a “record mode” and third-party cloud storage integration. These updates, announced Wednesday, are part of the company’s strategy to solidify its hold on the enterprise AI market.

Record Mode: Meeting Notes and Action Items, Automatically

ChatGPT’s new record mode allows users to capture and transcribe meetings, brainstorming sessions, or stream-of-consciousness thoughts. It’s currently exclusive to ChatGPT Team subscribers — a plan that costs $25 per user/month (billed annually for teams of two or more).

Transcriptions include timestamped citations and action items, making it easier for teams to organize, review, and act on conversations without manual note-taking.

Smart Document Queries with Cloud Integration

In a major step toward streamlining workflows, ChatGPT can now connect to popular cloud storage platforms including:

  • Google Drive
  • Dropbox
  • Box
  • SharePoint
  • OneDrive

Once connected, users can ask ChatGPT to analyze their files with queries like:

  • “What was my company’s Q1 revenue last year?”
  • “How many times did I take the ferry on my Italy trip?”

OpenAI says ChatGPT will respect user-level permissions and return clearly structured results with citations from the original documents.

Targeting the Business Market

These updates are available to ChatGPT Team, Enterprise, and Edu users. It’s all part of OpenAI’s aggressive expansion into the enterprise AI market, competing with giants like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.

ChatGPT Enterprise launched in 2023 and already boasts clients like PwC, Block, Canva, and Estée Lauder. As of now, OpenAI has over 3 million paying business users, up from 2 million in February 2025.

With the enterprise AI market expected to top $1 trillion in less than seven years, OpenAI is placing smart bets on tools that blend AI, productivity, and data analysis all inside ChatGPT.
