PlayStation Portal Now Supports Cloud Streaming

PlayStation has officially launched cloud streaming support for the PlayStation Portal, giving players a new way to enjoy their favorite games without connecting to their PS5 consoles.

Starting November 5th at 6PM PT / 9PM ET, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will be able to stream select PS5 titles directly from the cloud. The update also introduces a refreshed menu layout featuring three tabs — Remote Play, Cloud Streaming, and Search making navigation much simpler.

Thousands of Games Available at Launch

At launch, PlayStation confirmed that thousands of PS5 games will support the new cloud streaming feature. This includes major titles like:

  • Astro Bot
  • Borderlands 4
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
  • Fortnite
  • Ghost of Yōtei
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Resident Evil 4

Additionally, players can stream hundreds of titles from the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog and Classics Catalog, including:

  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • God of War Ragnarök
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Sword of the Sea
  • The Last of Us Part II Remastered

In total, there are over 2,000 games available for cloud streaming at launch — giving gamers massive flexibility in how they play.

New Features Coming to the PS Portal

Beyond cloud streaming, the PlayStation Portal is also receiving several new upgrades. These include:

  • Support for 3D audio for a more immersive experience.
  • Access to in-game stores and accessibility options.
  • The ability to accept invites and join multiplayer games directly.
  • A new passcode feature to enhance device security.

A Step Forward for PlayStation’s Cloud Ambitions

The cloud streaming rollout follows a successful beta test phase last year, which was also limited to PS Plus Premium subscribers. With this official launch, Sony is signaling its commitment to expanding cloud gaming, giving users a truly portable PlayStation experience through the Portal device.

Whether you’re streaming a blockbuster like God of War Ragnarök or reliving a classic from the catalog, the PlayStation Portal cloud streaming update brings console-quality gaming to your hands anywhere, anytime.
