Only 9 Sony Devices to receive Android Nougat, Experia Z3 snubbed

As expected, most android users are eager to receive the new Android update 7.0 Nougat which was recently released by google. Users of Sony Experia Z3 might not need to hold their breath on this one as it was reported that only nine Sony devices would be receiving the update, excluding the Z3.

Experia Z3 users received the rude awakening when Sony published the list of phones in their brand to receive the update as it was glaring how the Z3 was NOT on the list.
The list of Sony phones to receive the update include;
• Xperia Z3+
• Xperia Z4 Tablet
• Xperia Z5
• Xperia Z5 Compact
• Xperia Z5 Premium
• Xperia X
• Xperia XA
• Xperia X Performance
• Xperia XA Ultra

The omission of the Z3 is surprising because Z3 was one of the few non-Nexus devices besides the Android One devices that had access to Android 7.0 pre-release. After Google released the Android Nougat Developer Preview to some versions of the Xperia Z3 (D6603 and D6653) in partnership with Sony and if anything, this was seen as a sign of good things to come for the two-year-old device it almost seemed certain that the Z3 would get the Nougat update. How wrong everyone was.

Awkward as this might sound to Sony users, HTC is only making available three of its devices, the HTC 10, HTC One, and HTC One M9 for update.
Samsung on seems to have a larger slice of the Nougat cake as they would be updating the Galaxy Note 7, S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge plus, Note 5, among other models.
