iPhone 5S vs Galaxy Note 3

iPhone 5S is the new flagship product announced by Apple alongside with its supposed low cost iPhone 5C. Samsung also its Note 3 phablet. it’s more than certain that there will be lots of users who will find themselves choosing between these products, so we have put together a specs comparison of the two products.

iphone 5s VS galaxy note 3Design

The iPhone 5S has the same design and build as the iPhone 5. The dimensions and weight are exactly the same. Its the colour options which are different. Black is now called ‘Space Grey’, white is ‘Silver’ and there is a new ‘Gold’ colour, and a new fingerprint sensor on the home button.

Touch ID is officially on the iPhone 5S – meaning finger-reading security on the phone. It can detect that your finger is actually on the home button, so you don’t have to press it to unlock the phone.

The Galaxy Note 3, meanwhile, looks a lot like its predecessors, which is actually a good thing. It’s sleek, thin and light in the hand. While it easily stands out for its size alone, the large form factor isn’t the only thing that makes the Note 3 pop out from the crowd. The Note 3 also had a leather back which adds a nice touch.

Specs

Samsung Galaxy Note 3Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 has a 2.3 GHz proceesor with Snapdragon 800 chipset, it has 4G LTE, W-Fi, GPS, NFC and comes in either 32GB or 64GB storage options (with the option to expand via microSD) and not forgetting the massive 3Gig RAM. It also has the S Pen for stylus interaction,

The iPhone 5S uses the latest A7 processor and Apple said this is up to 40X faster than the original iPhone. It also uses an M7 co-processor to deliver better graphics and it has 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth Low Energy and nearly everything you’d expect in a smartphone. The one major thing missing is NFC.

Screen

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a larger screen than its 5.5-inch predecessor. Measuring at 5.7 inches, the Full HD Super AMOLED screen on the third-generation Note offers a stellar video-viewing experience. Screen resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels with Pixel Density at 386pixels per inch

The iPhone 5S screen is small in comparison to the Note 3’s display. It’s only 4-inches after all, which means it is totally dwarfed and a sort of disappointment at a time when people prefer devices with big screens. Screen resolution is 640 x 1136 with a Retina Display with 326 pixels per inch.

Software

The iPhone 5S launches with iOS 7 and this includes a radical new version of the software that many of you are familiar with. The iOS 7 platform is still quite easy to use but now it’s very colorful, has a lot of new tools for app developers and it includes new features like iTunes Radio.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is pre-installed with the latest Android 4.3 and Samsung’s custom user interface. Android is a delight to use for calls, texts, apps and web browsing. Samsung has thrown on some interesting customizations which can really help you take advantage of that S Pen.

Camera

The iPhone 5S features same 8-megapixel camera. As with iPhone cameras in the past, it likely takes great images consistently. The iPhone 5S has larger aperture and a dual-tone flash which could lead to better low-light shooting. Video recording is 1920×1080 (1080p HD) and 1280×720 (720p HD) and you can select which parts of the video you want in normal speed, and which parts you want in slo-mo.

The Note 3, on the other hand, sports a huge 13-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of recording 4k video (3840×2160) and 1920×1080 (1080p HD) video. The device also snaps great shots.

Given the option of buying any of the two devices, i would rather place my money on the Note 3 and snyc with the Gear rather than buy a new iPhone that surprisingly doesn’t have a considerable difference between its predecessor.

After comparing the two devices, i believe the customer should make the final buying decision based on the analysis above, preference or any other indices as it concerns.

Feel free to drop your comments on what you think about the new devices in the comment section below.
