SanDisk Ultra microSDXC card review

People have reached out to me on so many occasions requesting for my advice on which memory card to buy for their smartphones and cameras, some have had their fingers burnt by the purchasing fake memory cards from road side vendors or even the popular computer village while others are just keen on getting that recommendation before spending their money.

So I did some research and found the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC 128GB card, a memory card which can be used on tablets, smartphones and cameras which accepts the use of an SD card. With 128GB of storage space, you can snap pictures and record videos, have them saved for a long time without having to clear memory space frequently.

SanDisk Ultra microSDXC is durable and comes with an adapter for easy use on cameras and computers for easy transfer of files. The design of the card is similar to every other microSD card available, the front is coloured red and grey with SanDisk branding while the back has a circuit board layout, a small sticker indicating the model number and eight gold pins.

Results from transfer speeds on the microSDXC revealed a sequential 85MB/s and 53MB/s for read and write, respectively. Average time taken to transfer a 2GB file unto the SD card was 43 seconds while it took 19 seconds to copy out the same from the card.

Overall performance is good, while the write performance may be a little lower, compared to performance label by SanDisk, users won’t be able to tell and need not worry because the card will be able to deliver on increasing capacity needs. The speeds will do just well also since what will be mostly required is pulling up pictures, playing music and viewing stored videos.

For consumers who wish to expand storage capabilities on their smartphones, tablets or cameras without the need to delete old pictures or videos memories in order to accommodate new ones, then the SanDisk microSDXC memory card is a great option.
