5 things to note about the Match for Africa Match featuring Bill Gates

If you are not conversant with the voice of the 18-time (out of 23) World Richest Person according to Forbes, it could take you a while to identify the ‘fan’ in the advert as Bill Gates. Tuesday, April 4, 18-time Grand Slam Champion Roger Federer put up the advert for his 4th Match for Africa event on Twitter. Tagging it “Some fans have no respect…” (ah, please, me I am looking for a billionaire fan too 🙁 )

Trivia: Without looking at the sponsors list, one could easily speculate from the Advert that it is being sponsored by Nike (Rogers’ outfit), Microsoft (their co-founder, Gates), Rolex (perhaps, the watch Roger wore in the Ad) but how does Starbucks feature?

So, here goes a list of five things I want to highlight to you (with a bonus one at the end):

  1. Bill Gates and Roger Federer will team up in a doubles tennis match against John Isner and a still-to-be-announced celebrity partner. Afterwards, a best-of-three sets singles match will be played by Roger and John. Fact: John Isner holds the record for winning the longest match in Tennis history at the 2010 Wimbledon Championships. He is also a 10 time ATP Titles winner.
  2. The match will take place at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington, USA by 5:30 pm PT on Saturday, 29th April 2017.
  3. Proceeds from the match will go to the Roger Federer Foundation which currently supports about 277,000 children.
  4. Tickets for the match are currently on sale here.
  5. The Charity Exhibition match is organised to support Children’s education in Africa.

Finally, you can visit their official match for africa 4 site for all the information about this event.

Another bit of trivia: Both Bill Gates and Roger Federer are 18-time record holders for something.
