WhatsApp now allows you drop a voicemail message when you call another user on the app and they do not answer. It comes up as one of three options when there is no response to a WhatsApp call.
While you can as well traditionally text them or send them an IM until they get to a place of good network coverage, the new update takes things a bit higher by showing a missed call notification inside the chat you might be having with another user.
