Technology University Kicks Off In Kaduna

The Government of Kaduna under the state Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero is converting the Kafanchan campus of the Kaduna State University (KASU) into a full-fledged university of technology.

According to Yero, the technical committee for the establishment of the university has already been inaugurated and is headed by Professor A. Rasheed, Vice Chancellor of the Bayero University, Kano.

The governor said the present move by the government was to provide additional admission space for indigenes of the state seeking tertiary education, saying “last year, Kaduna state came best in the North and third overall in the country in WAEC result.”

“That has increased the number of candidates seeking admission into university. We have decided to upgrade the Kafanchan Campus to an autonomous university so that we can build more faculties in Kafanchan and KASU in Kaduna. This will create more opportunities for our students.”
