Samsung, Skool Media and Federal Ministry of Education partner in digitizing classrooms

Samsung Electronics West Africa in partnership with Skool Media and the Federal Ministry of Education recently concluded arrangements to digitize classrooms across all 104 Unity schools in Nigeria.

Under this initiative, students in each Unity school will receive Samsung tablets with customized Skool Media content already pre-installed. In addition to this, classrooms within those same Unity schools will be fitted with wirelesss connectivity, wireless printers and Samsung Electronic boards.

Director, Business to Business, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Charles Ojei, while speaking about the initiative mentioned that Samsung would also provide security for the devices as well as assist each school in filtering the content consumed by students on the internet.

Minister of Information, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, who represented the Minister of Education, Mr. Adamu Adamu, at the event, expressed her excitement about the impact this will have on education in Abuja.

In summary, she recognized and applauded Samsung’s effort and contribution towards ICT development within the country and urged all stakeholders in the education sector to partner with the ministry of education to salvage the country’s educational system.
