Microsoft partners The SociaLiga Foundation for SociaLiga 2016

Microsoft Nigeria has announced it is partnering with The SociaLiga Foundation – organizers of the 2016 The SociaLiga Football League which kicks off tomorrow, Saturday, 28th May 2016 and would run for six months (May –  November) (10 Game Weeks).

According to the organizers of the football league, the sporting event will help hundreds of young people discover and fulfill their passion, keeping them fit and productive, as well as effectively providing a platform for them to utilize their time offline, and as well, promote the games effectively on social media.

Also, the competition would afford consumers, leveraging the football league to educate them on the vulnerabilities consumers expose themselves to, when they use pirated software, while also directing them on the right path to locating genuine software.

According to the Citizen Manager, Microsoft Nigeria, Olusola Amusan, Microsoft will as part of its Community Software Donation Program, be empowering the foundation with technology that will help it manage volunteers, projects and scale up its impact”.

While Microsoft’s partnership sounds truly laudable, I’m sure all most participants what to hear and be certain of, is that this year’s competition will be a lot more fun than last year’s. If not, I don’t think the technology deployed during the event will matter very much.
