Lollipop is now the most popular version of the Android OS

5 months after the launch of the Marshmallow, Google has published statistics that show that the Android Lollipop is now the most popular version of its OS.

According to the report, the Lollipop OS which was launched in late 2014 currently runs on 36.1% of Android devices with the former most popular Android OS, the KitKat running on a close 34.3%.

At the same time, the number of devices running on the Marshmallow have doubled in the space of about a month to 2.3%. And that number is sure to increase as LG and Samsung look to release their flagship devices all of which run on the Marshmallow.

Wondering how you can upgrade your version of Android to the Marshmallow?

There’s no hurry, you’ll have to wait patiently till your phone manufacturer sends you a notification that such an update is available.

Until then, enjoy what you’ve got or buy a new flagship device. cheers
