Leak: Two Android Nougat-based Nokia phones coming soon

Just 2-months ago, after Nokia revealed that a new company had acquired the rights to use the ‘Nokia’ name on smartphones, pictures of what may be the first of such phones have surfaced online.

According to Gizmochina, two Nokia phones are currently in their prototype stage of development and may be launched by Q4 2016. One of the phones comes with a 5.2-inch display while the second comes with a 5.5-inch display. Both phones are also expected to come with Nokia’s Z-launcher on top of the Android 7.0 Nougat and be powered by the Snapdragon 820 chipset.

In addition, both devices are expected to come with IP68 Waterproof and Dustproof protection (similar to Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge).

With regards to the display resolution and the camera features on both phones, there’s no clear word on either. Nokiapoweruser however speculates that we could expect a QHD resolution OLED display and very good sensors on the phone camera’s due to Nokia’s prior extensive research into ‘wonder material Graphene’.

I’ll just stop here for now. After all, these are all speculations and even if they’re true, the specs could change with time since both devices are still in their prototype phase. However, be sure to keep an eye here for any news about Nokia’s next releases.

What do you think? Does Nokia stand a chance of winning back market share in today’s already over saturated smartphone market?
