Former Creative Director at Apple Now Huawei VP

Meet Abigail Brody, the new Chief UX designer and Vice President of Device and consumer at Chinese owned Huawei technologies. Having updated her Linkedin profile and posting a tweet on her social media, she announced her plans for Huawei and requested the input of other UX designers on her new project.

With a CV like hers, you know the guys at Huawei are not taking competition lying low.  It would interest you to know that Miss Brody is one of the privileged few to have designed and developed the very first iPhone, including its operating system, user interface, and user experience. She has also occupied the position of Vice President, Product Design at eBay and Paypal and going by what her official website and LinkedIn page say, “working with the executive team of Apple and eBay to define and execute product evolutions with Apple’s iOS1 (for the launch of the iPhone in 2007), iCloud (Apple’s cloud-based solution for photos, documents, apps, notes, calendar and contacts anywhere, anytime), “ProKit” (Apple’s internal professional application design language), my experience with, and insight into organizational development, design culture, process, strategy and execution is the direct result of having shipped numerous award-winning releases.”

At Huawei, Brody will head the user experience team which already has a path mapped out for it by management. IN a statement by the company, “Huawei is going to set up a user experience design studio in the U.S., tracking and leading pioneering design concepts in the industry, working with China’s domestic design teams to provide the best user experience of Huawei’s ultimate products.”

Recently, the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 was reviewed alongside some Chinese owned Smartphone brands for good music quality in Nigeria.

Here’s wishing Miss Abigail Sarah Brody all the best in her new office. May the force (of ux creativity and what not) be with you!
