Android Play store could be coming to Chrome OS soon

Chrome OS you say?

Yes Chrome OS. It’s Google’s OS for notebooks and it’s been around since 2011.

Ever since its launch though, Google executives have alluded to the fact that its two open source operating systems – the Android and Chrome OS could likely converge in the future. Right now it looks like we’re getting closer to the day that actually happens.

I say this due to the fact that Reddit users yesterday saw a splash screen in the developer version of the platform which showed that Google’s Play Store may be introduced to their Chromebooks. For instance a screenshot posted by one user showed an option in settings that read: “Enable Android apps to run on your Chromebook,” which we’re told ended up disappearing.

I wonder why it disappeared though.

Any ways, we can expect the tech giant to address the issue at its upcoming Google I/O developer conference in May.
