Applications are currently being accepted for AgriHack West Africa. According to the organizations, the vision is to advance youth agricultural entrepreneurship and ICT innovation to boost climate-resilient food value chains in West Africa. It would deploy Information Technology and Innovation to solve resilient challenges in fish farming value chains of Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo.
To boost fish farming value chain engagement of youth entrepreneurs, organizers are asking interested entrepreneurs to participate in the project by forming a team of not more than 3 members.
“The ideal team would bring the academia, developer and an existing value chain actor to a confluence. Remember, having a female member on board will be plus. Give your team a catchy name,” organizers said on their website which also contains the steps to take to enter the challenge.
Targeted applicants include ICT innovators, developers, fish farmers and fish farming enthusiasts who are based in one of the 3 focus countries: Nigeria, Benin and Togo, and are interested in working towards solving any of the persistent problems of the fish value chain in these countries.
Successful applications stand a chance to win substantial prizes including cash awards, capacity building and incubation opportunities. Application portal closes by 12th of April, 2016.
